Of all the fragrances I’ve tested, these 10 are the best during spring / autumn
Let’s jump right into the content. Guys, spring and autumn are amazing seasons because they usually offer the perfect climate: not too cold, nor too hot. For me, a typical spring day has temperatures between 10-25°C (sorry, I don’t know what this is in Fahrenheit). While you can wear almost any fragrance within those temperature ranges, most are still better suited for winter or summer. From the hundreds of perfumes that I’ve tested, the 10 on this list are the best fit for spring (and autumn). Vamos!
1. Lattafa – Asad
Best value-for-money
Quick Facts:
- Very versatile
- Any climate, any occasion
- Long-lasting
- Potent
If you follow me on my social media accounts, you already know I’m a big fan of Asad by Lattafa. What you get for such a low price is almost ridiculous. Not only does it boast a fantastic smell, with notes of citrus, lavender, and a hint of cola, but it is also very potent and has great longevity. Some compare Asad to Dior Sauvage Elixir. While it cannot be denied that they share some similarities, I believe Asad is the superior fragrance. It’s generally easier to wear, feels fresher, and comes across as more youthful. All things considered, this perfume is a no-brainer.
2. Afnan – Supremacy Not Only Intense
Really strong and long-lasting Extrait de Parfum
Quick Facts:
- Smoky black currant
- Very masculine
- Extrait de Parfum
- Affordable
Another UAE-based brand well-known for their perfumes with great value-for-money is Afnan. While Supremacy Not Only Intense is a bit pricier (about 60€), it offers a superb and very potent Extrait de Parfum. Due to its high perfume oil concentration, it is the most potent fragrance on this list. How does it smell? I would describe Supremacy Not Only Intense as having a smoky black currant scent. It has a very distinct and masculine aroma—fruity, smoky, and slightly sweet—perfect for spring and/or autumn.
3. JPG – Le Mâle
The classic
Quick Facts:
- White floral men’s perfume
- Very versatile
- Timeless classic
- Affordable when bought online
In 1995, Jean Paul Gaultier released a classic of the men’s fragrance world—Le Mâle. Le Mâle was one of the very first men’s perfumes to incorporate prominent white florals into its scent DNA. This was novel since white florals are typically associated with femininity. The white florals were tempered into a masculine scent with the help of strong woody notes and a slight, but delicate, sweetness. As a result, Le Mâle has become a timeless and very versatile perfume that one can wear in any kind of situation: dating, leisure time, office, or nightclub. While it can be worn year-round, it is best in the mild temperatures usually found during spring or autumn.
4. Prada – L’Homme
Everyone tells you to buy it … for a good reason
Quick Facts:
- THE office fragrance
- Soapy, clean, professional
- Good longevity
- Best in spring
By now, you’ve probably heard about Prada L’Homme. Every perfume influencer and their mom praises it as THE office fragrance for men — and for good reason. It has a very clean and professional aroma, almost like a luxury soap. It’s definitely great for daytime wear, especially for the office. Pair it with a suit, and you are good to go.
5. Guerlain – L’Homme Idéal
Unique cherry based compliment getter
Quick Facts:
- Girls love this
- EdP > EdT
- Unique and outstanding
- Best for dates, parties and special occasions
Are you here because you enjoy attention from women? Looking for a perfume that garners many compliments? Then you should check out L’Homme Idéal by Guerlain. Girls love it! Seriously, I attended a birthday party a couple of weeks ago, and a girl told me, “You are the best-smelling guy here; I need to get to know you.” So, what makes L’Homme Idéal so special? It’s all about a sweet cherry note with some almonds. There aren’t many cherry-based perfumes out there, and L’Homme Idéal is definitely the best one for men. Very important: opt for the Eau de Parfum as it’s by far the best concentration.
6. Hermès – Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée
The serious alternative for the office
Quick Facts:
- Herb aroma
- Fresh, suitable for warm days
- A daytime fragrance
- Mature
Here’s a polished and streamlined version of your text:
Eau Givrée is the fresher, more wearable summer version of the classic men’s perfume, Terre d’Hermès. It retains the fundamental DNA of the classic—earthy, dirty orange with some herbal green notes. This very masculine and serious scent is typically suited for mature men, as it lacks any sweetness or playful undertones. Eau Givrée modifies this base to make it more accessible to a younger audience, adding some freshness and a slight sweetness while slightly reducing the earthy notes. The result is a very solid perfume for daytime activities and office settings.
7. Chanel – Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême
One of the best designer fragrances EVER created
Quick Facts:
- Smells delicious
- Super mass-appealing
- Versatile
- Longevity cool be better
If L’Homme Idéal and its cherry note sound a bit too uncommon for you, but you still want to garner as many compliments as possible, Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême might be just what you need. It’s the most universally appealing scent you can imagine. With fresh mint, citrus notes, and a creamy, sweet base, it smells amazing in the air. This is a perfume you can wear to literally any occasion and all year round, although it performs best in temperatures of 10-25°C. Compliments guaranteed!
8. Chanel Édition Blanche
A creamy lemon tart in liquid form
Quick Facts:
- Literally smells like a lemon tart
- Very Sweet
- Unique take on a spring / summer fragrance
- Wear during daytime
A unique take on spring/summer perfumes is Chanel’s Allure Homme Édition Blanche. While most summer perfumes feature a fresh-citrus combination, Édition Blanche stands out with its creamy, sweet base. The primary actor of the scent is strong citrus notes, which are very prominent and lend the perfume a joyful summer vibe. Combined with its creaminess, the fragrance evokes the smell of a delicious lemon tart—a truly distinctive aroma. If you enjoy sweet fragrances, you might want to check this out, especially in spring when it’s not too hot.
9. Tom Ford – Ombré Leather
The fragrance to pair with a leather jacket
Quick Facts:
- Available in two concentrations, Parfum the better choice
- Authentic, pure leather
- Pair with a leather jacket
- Sping / autumn only
The undisputed best leather fragrance for men currently available is Ombré Leather by Tom Ford. While many other perfumes feature a leather note, in Ombré Leather, leather is not just an accompanying note—it’s the star. It offers an authentic leather aroma. Pair it with a leather jacket, and you’re set. Most of you will prefer the Parfum concentration, as it’s a bit fresher and easier to wear than the Eau de Parfum. This is one of the few perfumes that I reserve exclusively for mild climates during spring and autumn.
10. Xerjoff – Alexandria III
Buy this is you just want the very best money can get you
Quick Facts:
- Absolute perfection
- Rose – Oud combination
- Smells like a million dollars
- Will cost you serious $$$
Guys, before we discuss the next perfume, I want to emphasize that all the fragrances we’ve covered so far are perfectly suited for spring and autumn. However, I must point out that Alexandria III is quite expensive—really expensive. But, if you’re looking for the best that money can buy, then Alexandria III is a must-try. It offers an impeccable blend of rose and oud, while remaining fresh and easy to wear. You’ll smell like a million dollars, trust me. I recommend reading the full review first before considering a purchase.
