Personal preferences
Although there are certainly amazing heavy winter scents, I prefer fresh fragrances because I’m usually in warmer climates and enjoy being active. When I’m out and about in the heat, I want a scent that will keep me feeling fresh and invigorated throughout the day.

Coming from a small village in Germany, life has led me to various places around the world. So I had the opportunity to spend considerable time in Japan, South America and other European countries.

Whenever I’m not sampling new scents, I like to play table tennis. Being an active club member and attending tournaments since the age of 14.

That’s hard to say, and actually I don’t count. Let me assure you that I know all major Men’s Perfumes out there and over the years have probably sampled something around 500 – 600 different scents.
I’m open to work with everyone, but will never accept payment for a ranking or the mentioning in of the recommendation lists. Hence, you can be sure that all fragrance reviews made by me are just reflecting my honest opinion.
Generally, I’m not reviewing or recommending clones because of these 3 reasons:
1.) Back a couple of years ago, I sampled a couple of clones and wasn’t satisfied with the quality at all. The originals were much better.
2.) My passion is to explore new sensations, and a clone is by definition just a reproduction of something already existing. Therefore, clones are just too boring for me.
3.) Creating and marketing a new perfume is a lot of work and an expensive endeavour. I want to honour the original perfumer and the brand behind, and so I won’t promote any clones over an original fragrance.
Starting Olfactory Ambition was basically just a series of unrelated events. First, I obviously had a passion for amazing smells and noticed more and more people in my surrounding approaching me for recommendations. Also, I always had the feeling that existing informational sources are either incomplete or difficult to use. Then one day I started to play around with WordPress for a very different project and really liked it. I asked myself a question: why don’t you start your own fragrance website? The rest is history.
