My Full Fragrance Review:
Welcome, fellow scent enthusiasts. Today, we turn our noses toward Switzerland, home of Tauer, a celebrated fragrance house that boasts two truly incredible Parfums. In this review, we’ll explore my opinion on one of these stars – the utterly unique L’Air du Désert Marocain. An Eau de Toilette Intense, this fragrance may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it commands a loyal following, captivated by its distinctive notes. Its equally renowned sibling is Au Coeur du Désert, a close rendition, but formulated as an Extrait de Parfum.
Quick Facts:
Smell:
L’Air du Désert Marocain, meaning the ‘Air of the Moroccan Desert,’ lives up to its name in every sense. The last time I ventured to Marrakesh was back in 2016, and this fragrance vividly evokes memories of that journey. The perfume is an aromatic cocktail of spice bazaar musings, wisps of smoke, and an arid dryness mirroring the desert itself. It’s a serious, unapologetic scent, epitomizing life in a harsh, arid landscape. This is not a playful, sweet, or fruity fragrance. To me, it’s more a work of olfactory art than an everyday wear. In my opinion, the versatility is very limited: its harshness might make it a challenging fit for dates, and its unique character could raise eyebrows in the office. The only occasion I could see L’Air du Désert Marocain as a perfect fit is when you’re out backpacking through Southeast Asia or Africa, savouring the outdoor life and treating every day as a new adventure.
Longevity:
Despite being an Eau de Toilette Intense, don’t underestimate the potency of L’Air du Désert Marocain. It’s a fragrance that announces your presence with vigor and stays with you through your journey. Its longevity is impressive, but remember, it’s a distinctive scent. A little goes a long way.
