It’s no secret that I’m a fan of fragrances and I’ve been on the hunt for the best ones. Today, I’m going to review Détour Noir by Al Haramain. Let’s be real for a second here. When it comes to the bottle, Détour Noir leaves a lot to be desired. Perhaps it even wins the award for the worst bottle design in fragrance history. But let’s not judge a fragrance by its bottle. After all, as we often say, it’s what’s inside that counts.
And what’s inside Détour Noir? Well, it’s actually one of the best smelling cheap fragrances for men. There’s no denying that.
Quick Facts:
Smell:
Despite the rumours, Détour Noir is not a dupe of Layton (Parfums de Marly). Nope, it’s something entirely different. In a nostalgic turn of events, Détour Noir actually brings back the incredible scent of the discontinued Boss Bottled Intense EdP from Hugo Boss.
Imagine the scent of a freshly baked apple strudel filling your nostrils. Vanilla, cinnamon, and apples all mingling together in a sweet, delightful dance. That’s what you get with Détour Noir. It’s a wonderfully dense and alluring scent that’s just perfect for winter dating. There’s a sweetness, a casualness, that makes it best suited for men up to 40 years. In my book, this definitely puts Détour Noir amongst the top cheap fragrances out there.
Longevity:
Now, onto the longevity of this perfume. Détour Noir is, without a doubt, a long-lasting formulation. It’s got all the ingredients for it – density, sweetness, and a heavy winter scent profile. It’s the kind of fragrance that will stick with you throughout the day. While I usually lean towards seven sprays of my go-to fragrances, I’d recommend going with just five sprays of Détour Noir. It projects quite powerfully.
