Hey guys! Today, I’m going to talk about a unique fragrance that caught my attention: Homme – Eau de Toilette Intense from Kenzo. This French brand was founded by a Japanese designer who aimed to blend Asian and Japanese elements into fashion and fragrances. Most of my collection consists of traditional French or Italian brands, but ever since my study abroad in Japan in 2014, I’ve been in love with the country. So, I was eager to see how a men’s fragrance with Japanese influences would smell like.
Quick Facts:
Smell:
Kenzo’s Homme – Eau de Toilette Intense is an incredibly fresh and masculine fragrance with a solid woody base. It reminds me of super fresh scents like Cool Water from Davidoff, but more complex and even more masculine. You can immediately smell the difference between an Italian fragrance house creation and this one by a Japanese designer.
This fragrance encapsulates the essence of traditional Japanese masculinity, think of the stoic samurai or the modern, dynamic businessman. When wearing Homme – Eau de Toilette Intense, I’m transported back to Tokyo. This scent is everywhere in the Japanese capital: from salarymen in the subway to bartenders at an Izakaya or nightclub bouncers.
It’s the ideal scent for anyone who wants to give off a serious, masculine, and professional vibe. Perfect for the office, but versatile enough for almost any occasion. Though it’s a fresh scent ideal for hot days, it’s suitable for year-round wear, except for the coldest winter days.
Longevity:
Another big plus is the longevity. Homme – Eau de Toilette Intense lasts a long time, which is impressive for a fresh scent. I absolutely love it!
