My Full Fragrance Review:
Having been on a roll with Parfums de Marly’s fresh offerings, I’ve already sampled Sedley – a minty, invigorating aroma that swiftly secured a spot on my best summer perfumes list. I followed that with a dab of Percival, which was versatile, albeit slightly run-of-the-mill. Naturally, when Greenley made its way to my testing table, my hopes weren’t sky-high. A quick online scroll had led me to believe that Greenley might be the runt of the Marly fresh bunch. Add to that its hefty price tag of $200+ for 125ml, and you can understand my initial hesitation.

So, the big moment – a spritz of Greenley on the wrist. My first reaction? It’s not half bad! The initial blast brings forth a rush of fresh, slightly fruity notes. Instantly, my mind conjures up images of a crisp, green apple – a Granny Smith, to be precise. It’s juicy, subtly sweet with a hint of tartness. Far better than my earlier reservations led me to believe. But as the scent settled, there’s a very identifiable familiarity about it. You know that classic fresh-out-of-the-shower scent many rave about? That’s what Greenley mirrors. It’s reminiscent of those typical hair shampoos – leaving you emanating a fresh, clean vibe, with just a hint of apple. On the bright side, the perfume remains consistent; it doesn’t transition into something unrecognizable halfway through. For those who enjoy consistency in their fragrance, this might tick the box. When to wear it, you ask? Picture those warm days where you’d love to just feel fresh and clean, that’s where Greenley would shine. But if winter beckons, this might not be your best pick.
Longevity:
Despite being labeled as an Eau de Parfum, Greenley’s performance is more reminiscent of a light cologne, somewhat akin to Dior Homme Cologne. Given its light and breezy nature, ideal for scorching days, it presents two scenarios. First, you won’t feel choked by its scent even if you’re a tad generous with the sprays. Second, its sillage is rather intimate. Just to give you an idea, once, after zealously applying 7 sprays, a nearby friend couldn’t pick up the scent even when close. So, in my opinion, don’t hold back on those sprays!
