Today, I want to share a personal story about how I learned the importance of doing some research before heading out to buy a perfume. It was April 2012, I was 21 and had just arrived in Vienna to start my university studies. I visited a popular perfume store chain and spent about two hours sampling men’s fragrances. I finally chose Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme as my go-to scent. But, fast forward to now, and my 50ml bottle still has a third of its liquid left. Why? Because I didn’t consider what kind of perfume I wanted, the occasion, season, or even if it was age-appropriate.
Quick Facts:
Smell:
Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme is a classic, old school men’s fragrance. It has a fresh, elegant, and slightly alcoholic scent, which honestly, is quite pleasant and strong. I can see why my younger self was drawn to it. However, if I could go back in time, I’d tell 21-year-old me that this is a fragrance better suited for older gentlemen. It’s not quite right for a young guy looking to have fun and party. Picture a charismatic 70-year-old man with a well-groomed beard, who wears a suit every day and carries a pocket watch. He’s still active in his community and runs his own business. Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme is versatile enough to be worn in all seasons, except on extremely hot summer days.
Longevity:
As for its performance, Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme has average longevity. There’s nothing exceptional to report here – it’s neither too short nor too long-lastin
