My Full Fragrance Review:
I have fond memories of using Armani Code Ultimate and Armani Code Eau de Parfum (EdP) during my younger years. The discontinuation of the Ultimate variant and my affinity for the EdP led me to eagerly anticipate the release of the new Armani Code Parfum. Of course I had to feature this fragrance classic on my website. This review will focus primarily on the Code Parfum, with occasional references to the still-in-production EdP. By the end, I’ll also suggest an alternative fragrance for those intrigued by the Code Parfum but seeking something slightly different.
Quick Facts:
Smell:
The first whiff of the new Armani Code Parfum took me by surprise. It carries the unmistakable Code DNA but presents a stark contrast to the EdP I was accustomed to. The Parfum opens with an unexpectedly fresh aroma. It’s a complex blend of sweet, warm, and sexy notes, typical of the Code lineage, but enhanced with citrus top notes alongside fresh and floral undertones. This combination transforms the Armani Code from a sultry night-time scent to a more sophisticated option suitable for office wear. While the Parfum is an ideal choice for school or office settings, particularly on cooler days, its youthful and playful character also makes it a great option for dates. In contrast, the EdP is sweeter, more potent, and more pronounced. Both are excellent choices, depending on your preference, but I’d advise against wearing them on hot summer days to avoid an overpowering scent.
Longevity:
Longevity is a crucial factor in any fragrance, and the Armani Code line maintains an average performance in this regard. For a winter scent, it leans towards the shorter side of endurance but remains robust enough to last several hours. I usually opt for about five sprays to achieve the desired longevity.
