Ok my friends, today I’m going to talk about the most expensive perfume in my collection as of April 2023: Baccarat Rouge 540, or BR540 for short, from Maison Francis Kurkdjian. This luxurious fragrance comes in two concentrations, Eau de Parfum and Extrait de Parfum. In my opinion, the Eau de Parfum leans a bit too sweet and feminine, so I’ll be focusing on the Extrait de Parfum, which is perfect for us guys.

Smell:
To be completely honest, it’s really hard for me to describe the scent of BR540. It has a hint of sweetness, some woodiness, and a dash of spices. I can’t pinpoint any specific notes, but let me tell you this: it smells like money. And I mean, serious wealth. Picture someone strolling down the Champs-Élysées in Paris, dressed to impress and exuding confidence and power. That’s the kind of vibe you get from BR540.
This is definitely a winter fragrance, and it’s not so much about the occasion as it is about who you are and whether the scent suits you. It’s fantastic for date nights, formal events like proms, or even for CEOs and business owners to wear to the office.
One thing to note: BR540 smells better in the air than it does on your skin. So rest assured, people around you will love the scent.
Longevity:
As an Extrait de Parfum, BR540 is highly concentrated and has impressive longevity. However, you might become nose blind to it quite quickly. So keep in mind that you’re wearing this scent for others to enjoy. It projects an arm’s length aura around you consistently and lasts for about 12 hours. Even though it’s an Extrait de Parfum and a heavier fragrance, I’d recommend using more sprays than you typically would so that people really take notice.
