Artisan Pure by John Varvatos fits right into that niche – a pleasant summer scent that doesn’t break the bank. Although a designer brand, John Varvatos, is only found in some selected perfume store. In terms of aroma, Artisan Pure is essentially a light, airy blend of white florals and citrus. The fragrance feels like a sunny summer day encapsulated in a bottle – it’s bright, uplifting, and incredibly wearable. That’s not to say that this fragrance DNA is groundbreakingly unique, but it’s a commendable rendition of a well-loved combination. It’s akin to other fragrances in this category, such as Eau de Lacoste Blanc. Both have that same vibrant citrus-floral vibe, but where Lacoste tilts more towards the youthful end of the spectrum, Artisan Pure carries itself with a bit more maturity, making it suitable for all ages. When to don this fragrance? My suggestion would be to take advantage of its refreshing attributes on warmer days, especially during daytime leisure activities.

Now, let’s address the longevity. Given its composition of light white florals and fresh citrus – ingredients which are typically found in fleeting head notes – it’s not surprising that Artisan Pure doesn’t have the staying power of some heavier scents. But it’s worth keeping in mind that this is a characteristic of this specific fragrance family, rather than a flaw. To maintain the scent throughout the day, you might want to consider reapplying every four hours or so.
