I’ve recently had the pleasure of conducting a review of Replica – Jazz Club, a men’s perfume from Maison Margiela’s Replica series. This unique series aims to capture specific moments and turn them into wearable scents. Released in 2013, Jazz Club is all about taking you to an elegant, old-fashioned jazz club for a night of great music and good company.

My review focuses on how well the Replica series transforms memorable experiences into fragrances you can wear. In the case of Replica – Jazz Club, Maison Margiela has done an excellent job capturing the essence of a night out at a classy jazz club. Picture yourself in a cozy, vintage cigar or jazz club, sinking into a plush leather chair while sipping whiskey and puffing on a fine cigar. The smooth sounds of a live jazz band play in the background as you chat and laugh with your buddies. This is exactly what Replica – Jazz Club smells like.
The scent is warm, woody, slightly smoky, and undeniably boozy. I can easily envision a distinguished older gentleman wearing this fragrance on a night out with friends. When he heads to the bar, he confidently flirts with an attractive woman 25 years younger than him.
Longevity:
As for the longevity of Replica – Jazz Club, it’s a tad below the average for winter fragrances, but it’s still decent. You’ll find that it lasts long enough for a night out, but the projection may leave you wanting more. After a short while, the scent doesn’t project as far, so people will need to get quite close to catch a whiff of it. I definitely recommend to apply a couple more sprays than usual, when wearing this perfume.
